The history of our company begins on July 18th 1991, when Ioan Gavriș founded GIG IMPEX, having as exclusive object of activity the internal and international passenger transport. Our small company launched its services by purchasing 3 touristic buses, IKARUS trademark, brought from Germany. In the year 2000, we reoriented ourselves to MAN, as the only trademark for our vehicle fleet, being convinced of the reputation and performance of this brand, as an essential element for the way we projected our activity – high quality standards.
In this primary phase, we organised touristic trips to destinations like Turkey, Poland and Hungary, but since July 1993, our company has obtained the authorization for regular drives on the route Oradea-Budapest, hence creating the foundation of a tradition route for us.
12 years later, in 2003, due to a progressive development, the decision to invest in a related field to GIG IMPEX was taken: a service for trucks and buses at European standards. Mr. Ioan Gavriș started from the premise that this high-standard service would also provide maintenance and repair services for the own fleet.
By acquiring experience in vehicle repair field, our company became a licensed MAN service in October 2005. Up until present we have improved and specialised, so that we can pride ourselves with our repair and maintenance services for any trademark of vehicles, heavy or light utility vans, trailers or semitrailers and trucks.
The first service hall was built in 2002, the second – gradually and simultaneously, and the last one was finished in 2009. As a result, we benefit from a built surface of 3000 sqm , of which 2000 sqm are allotted for activities within the service, whereas the rest of the space is destined for our offices. The GIG centre includes all lucrative facilities of a service complying with the European quality and standards imposed by MAN: machine shop, periodic technical inspection station, tin shop, dyeing shop and wash house.
Starting with 2013, we have extended the service to be able to provide our services also for regular vehicles and for as many customers as possible and to insure the same repair quality for small personal cars, as for business cars, in a space extended to 318 sqm. Beyond the service branch for a wide range of vehicles, we have also identified the need of car holders to store their season tyres in a specialised space – therefore, also in 2013, we have delimitated a 318 sqm space destined for temporary storage of tyres. This concept of “tyres` hotel” was elaborated to ensure extra comfort for our daily customers.
For us, the special quality of products is a crucial premise, whereas our activity relies on settling certain standards for our customers` safety and comfort, as well as on satisfying their needs and wishes, outlined in the same manner we`d want them to be, at the highest standard.
Starting with our main fields of activity built over the course of time, we`ve considered a new development to be proper and we have decided to sign an exclusive agreement with AUER company in Austria, for the distribution of rfurbished. tyres in Romania. Therefore, we`ve enlarged our range of services by wishing to cover an adjacent and useful field for our customers.
Throughout the years, we`ve grown, developed and improved and, through the support, trust and loyalty of our employees and not the last, our customers, we`ve managed to reach 25 years of activity this year. Thank you for your support and we assure you we`ll continue this beautiful journey together!
